Elbrus Mountain is one of seven highest tops of continents, therefore its conquest is considered as an extremely brave deed. Besides, the majority of the Russian climbers have made their bones on Elbrus.

Behind seeming ease classical route of ascension to Elbrus there are many unforeseen complications. Weather conditions can vary quickly, and then it is possible to get off from the route which is passing far from numerous deep cracks.

The hoisting of flags of companies «ABS-auto» and «Bosch» in July, 2009 on height of 5642 m became the culmination of a successful ascension on the highest top of Russia and Europe on the top of Elbrus Mountain.

The first registered ascension to Elbrus was made by expedition of Russian Geographical Society under the direction of general G.A.Emanuel in 1829.

Elbrus Mountain is the young volcano, which have the conic form with diameter length of the basis about 18 km. At first, the Western top of Elbrus, which is the highest one (5642 km), was formed as a result of eruption , then on a place of a lateral crater has arose the East top (5623 km). Both tops have firn cover, from which 23 glaciers go off in contrary directions. The total area of eternal snow and ices on Elbrus reaches 135 square kilometers. Capacity of ice reaches in separate places 400m. Almost all the Elbrus Mountain is situated on the territory of the Kabardino-Balkaria.
